Bella Vista - La Cruz

In the past we have taken the opportunity to use the Brushstrokes section of The Artisan to share client experiences in which Northland Wealth was able to assist them. Many of these stories centred on the concierge services offered by our family office, which fall outside of traditional
investment management services, and include such areas as overseeing the construction of a family cottage, philanthropic endeavours, or even arranging exotic excursions.

In this edition we would like to share with you a project that one of our clients has been working on since the winter of 2018.

Just over a year ago, we received a call from a long-time client who was at his winter home in the
Puerto Vallarta area of Mexico. He got straight to the point -“I’m looking at buying the property
next to mine, and I want to tear everything down and build a boutique condo complex - what do you think?” At first, we said – “you are joking, right? I mean you are retired, have a beautiful retirement property down in Mexico, another property in Canada, and an investment portfolio that’s working for you so that you can live the lifestyle you want - why upset the apple cart?” Well, coming from a fast-paced working environment in the oil patches of Western Canada, ‘slowing down’ was not exactly his style; nor was taking on a new challenge in a foreign country.

Initially our discussions were purely around financing the purchase of the adjacent lot, but as things progressed, it was evident that our client was going to need assistance from start to finish. Although this type of project was new to the client and us, the investment opportunity was intriguing – so we did some research and eventually the project moved forward.

Over the course of the next year our firm worked with our client to bring the project to life. Our client was spearheading the project from his casa in Mexico and from Alberta (where he was still doing consulting work). Northland Wealth provided a helping hand in the coordination of the project
through our participation in weekly meetings and calls with various architects, builders, project managers, city officials, property managers, engineers, accountants and of course, many lawyers.

We would now like to congratulate our client on the official launch of Bella Vista – Yacht Club Condos in La Cruz De Huanacaxtle which feature one, two, and three
bedroom condominiums all finished with excellent materials and offering unobstructed ocean views from every level. The ground breaking will commence in late spring 2019.

Everyone at Northland Wealth is extremely proud to be able to serve our clients and contribute to making their dreams and visions become reality.
